Professional Staff

Carolyn Long, CEO and President of MAG, brings more than 20 years of public management consulting experience to your organization. Ms. Long is recognized by the Courts as an expert witness in the areas of compensation , classification and pay equity. She has also directed several hundred studies during her distinguished career.

Donald C. Long, Ph.D., Executive Vice-President, specializes in fire/EMS and law enforcement studies, organizational reviews, staffing, strategic planning and cost containment. Dr. Long has worked with public sector agencies for over twenty years and has completed hundreds of studies.

Alan Johnson, Senior Vice-President, is an experienced programmer, database design manager and web administrator as well as a seasoned consultant. Mr. Johnson has extensive experience in working with all aspects of the software design and development.

Calvin Grissett, Regional Vice President, combines extensive experience in both human resources, staffing and in criminal justice management consulting. Mr. Grissett has directed or participated in more than 50 HR consulting projects over the past three years. Mr. Grissett manages MAG's Florida office.

Michael Jones, Senior Consultant, brings years of financial management experience to bear, contributing to the analysis and cost review of all plans, surveys, and implementation scenarios.

Rita Haugabrook, Senior Consultant, brings over 12 years of professional experience in the field of public sector human resources and management. Ms. Haugabrook has worked extensively in state governments and served with the Department of Administration, Division of Management Services (human resources) just prior to joining MAG. Ms. Haugabrook has extensive experience in classification, compensation, and pay equity in a large state-wide system.




History

MAG began as the vision of the Principals of the firm in 2000 with the goal to become the premier Management Consulting and Human Resources company serving public sector and non-profit organizations. MAG began developing the most comprehensive software programs in the industry to fully support and automate market data collection, data analysis, compensation and classification process. Today MAG has scores of clients that include state, county and local government as well as any number of political subdivisions and not-for-profit organizations. MAG attributes the rapid growth of the company to the dedicted staff who tirelessly work to bring added value to the studies and to exceed our clients expectations. Today MAG's main office is located in the suburb of Washington, DC with regional offices in Florida and the Carolinas.
